We teach all children across school how to look after their own well-being both in discrete Well-being lessons as well as through PSHE, Science and PE. Our children learn about the importance of a balanced diet, the benefits or exercise, the importance of getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water to keep healthy. We also teach them about how our brains work and how the neuroscience behind how we manage our emotions can be helped by keeping our bodies healthy.
We use the Action for Happiness calendar in each classroom and you will find positive affirmations shared across school to keep everyone aiming for positive self-belief so we can feel our best, helping us to be the best we can be.
Mr Johnston is our Well-being leader and we have several staff who make up our Well-being Team across school to support the children through Nurture or 1:1 chats when needed.
