We were so fortunate to be joined, on Tuesday afternoon, by one of our fantastic families sharing a very special award! We heard how this Year Two grandparent received a very special letter in the post one day with an invitation to attend a super special ceremony at Windsor Castle for services to Gender Equality, in which she was given an MBE by our current King Charles (Prince of Wales at the time). 

The children enjoyed looking at the shiny medal and were blown away by the photos of the ceremony, especially as we are currently writing a biography about King Charles in our English lessons linked to our History topic on monarchs. They listened fantastically and asked some brilliant questions.

We love having visitors in school, especially visitors that we know!
