Maths - Thursday 7th May 2020

Today is another revision lesson, this time of the three times table.  The worksheets and video are below as usual but I have also set a task on My Maths for you as well if you want a go on that instead of or as well as the worksheet. As we have said before, do not worry about the work just do as much as you can. Remember too that you can also have a go at practising your times tables on the 'Hit the Button' website.

Today your maths lesson is about adding money. Just do as much as you can and please do not worry if you do not understand it all.

Today's Puzzle. What do you notice? What do you wonder?

English - Monday 4th May 2020

Welcome to week 5! Today's lesson is all about description and how it can be used to create an image in the reader's mind. Below is an extract from Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox, where the reader is introduced to 3 farmers. I would like you to read the chapter and then draw a picture of each farmer using the description to help you. For an extra challenge you could label each picture with descriptive phrases. It would be lovely to see the artwork you create!

Maths - Monday May 4th 2020 (Happy Star Wars Day!!)

I hope that you have all had a great weekend. This week in maths you will have 3 lessons revising money, and in the fourth lesson you will revise the 3 times table. Friday will be a problem solving day again. So lots to look forward to in your maths learning this week.laugh

The video you need to watch today is: Summer Term, week 3 lesson 1, 'Converting pounds and Pence'. There's a change of voice today - a northern accent especially to remind you of Mrs Karban's accent I assume!

Please note: thanks to Jack's eagle eye, we think the pence in question 5 is shown wrongly on the answer sheet.

Today's Puzzle. Which one doesn't belong and why? Can you think of different reasons each of them may not belong in the set?
