Miss T's English Introduction!

English – Wednesday 17th June 2020

Hello again, well done for making it half way through the week! For today’s English lesson, you will need to read/watch the rest of chapter 7 ‘Miss Honey from 55 minutes and 55 seconds to 1 hour, 9 minutes and 51 seconds. In this part of the chapter, we are learning about Matilda’s extraordinary brain and all the amazing things she has taught herself so far. She also creates the following limerick (poem) to describe Miss Honey.

‘The thing we all ask about Jenny

Is, ‘Surely there cannot be many

Young girls in the place

With so lovely a face?’

The answer to that is, ‘Not any!’’

For today’s activity, I would like you to create your own poem for either Matilda or Miss Honey. It doesn’t have to be a limerick, but I have attached a poster that describes how to write a limerick if you wish to use it.

Please send us your poems as we would love to hear them! You could even read them to us in a video!
