English – Tuesday 9th June 2020

Welcome back! Today we are going to focus on what we know about Matilda so far, we have learned all about her extraordinary brain and ability to read any novel independently. We have also found out a lot about her family and how they choose to treat her. Using all of this character knowledge, you will create a role on the wall for Matilda. This is where you have the outline of a character and write information about their personality on the inside, and facts we know about them on the outside. I have attached my own example below to help get you started.

Maths - Tuesday 9th June 2020

Today you are going to learn to tell the time to 1 minute.

First of all watch the video where Amber returns to teach you the lesson. Again, in this video the numbers on the clock face are shown ‘stretched out’ on a number line. This is because clock faces are just a number line made into a circle.

Parents please note again that this video is on You Tube and may contain adverts.

Activity. Can you make a clock a bit like Amber’s? You could draw around a plate in your book or use a paper plate if you have one.  When you have done that, have a go at teaching your class again or maybe today you could teach whoever is looking after you. Remember, it’s ok, even if you’re a teacher, to make mistakes. Your class (or carer) will help to correct you if you get confused. Just like you help me in class!

How many? How did you count them? Can you find more than one way to count them?

‘Children are captivated by their learning’, ‘The well-being of pupils is at the heart of the school’, ‘School is a calm place - pupils are polite, courteous and well-mannered’
