Lesson 1: How to make your journeys to school safer
We would usually have Warwickshire Road Safety Team visit us in school, but because of Lockdown this hasn’t happened. Hopefully we will very soon be back in school. Have a look at the video to remind yourself of how to make your journey to school (and other places!) safer. There are activities for you to complete too.
Lesson 2: Road, cycle and vehicle safety
You will be looking at some common road signs and will learn how to keep safe whilst out on a bike. You will become familiar with the car seat law and create a fact sheet on what you have learnt.
Lesson 3: Recognising hazards in the home
You will learn what a hazard is and how to spot them in your own home through a series of images shown. You will then carry out a basic risk assessment on a room of your choice.
Lesson 4: To identify fire hazards in the home
You will learn how to reduce the risk of fires in your home by identifying hazards and rectifying them. You will know the importance of smoke detectors and listen to a firefighter's safety advice. You will then create your own evacuation plan for your house.
Lesson 5: To recognise the need for rules
You will be looking at safety signs outside and know their importance. Laws will be explored and you will watch a police officer being interviewed. You will end the lesson by creating your own rules.
