Two weeks earlier, the extremely wet and cold weather did not put 30 of our pupils off in competing in the 2nd Cross Country event of the season.
The morning began with light drizzle which for the years 3s and 4s were bearable running conditions. By the time it got to the year 5 and 6 race the heavens opened, the ground was soon covered in thick mud, leaving only traces of grass!
Despite the weather, all children completed their race, some of which came over the finishing line with huge smiles on their faces, having run a new personal best.
A fantastic effort was made by all children but a special mention is needed for Joel in year 4 who began his race out in 1st place, starting at a very quick pace. Nerves were kicking in from the spectators, wondering if he could maintain it. With Joel's determination, he was not letting anyone get past him and he won his race.
Martha in Year 6 continued to maintain her top 3 position and with the great results from the Year 4 boys who received the team award.
Well done to all of the children who took part, and a very huge thank you to the adults who braved the cold and wet to support their children!
