English – Monday 13th July 2020

Welcome to your first lesson of week 14 and final Monday of Year 3! For today’s activity I would like you to give some advice and helpful tips to the new Year 3 classes moving up in September. Think back to the beginning of this year and what questions you might have had and what advice you would have liked to have had from the previous class. You can prepare your advice in any way that you like, for example you could write a letter, create an information leaflet or design a poster. In your writing I would like you to outline the following things:

  • The differences in Year 3 compared to Year 2,
  • What you have enjoyed about Year 3,
  • Your advice for the new Year 3’s,
  • What to expect on your first day.

Please send your advice through to us as Miss Urquhart and I will use them to help the new Year 3 classes in September.

Maths - Monday 13th July 2020

Today you can have a go at making some 3-D shapes from the nets. As this will involve you printing out several sheets if you do not have access to a printer, I have put a 3-D shape activity on My Maths for you to do.

To make up the shape:

  1. Cut around the edge of the net, but do not cut along the lines inside
  2. Decorate the faces if you want to
  3. Fold along each of the lines inside the net
  4. Use the tabs to stick the shape together
  5. Enjoy!

Nets of 3-D shapes for you to print out and make.

Today's Puzzle. Which one doesn't belong and why?

‘Children are captivated by their learning’, ‘The well-being of pupils is at the heart of the school’, ‘School is a calm place - pupils are polite, courteous and well-mannered’
