During the 2021 Spring Term lockdown there will be twice-daily class video meetings available to support children’s well-being, explain learning, play games and ask questions.
Our first priority is the safeguarding of all children and because of this we will be using Microsoft Teams. Teams contains many features specifically tailored to education and now works seamlessly with children’s Warwickshire WeLearn accounts. Your meetings will usually be at 9.30am or 3.00pm but individual classes may differ depending on teacher commitments. You will be informed of any changes to these times by your class teachers. A recording of each Teams meeting will ensure that you can catch up if you are viewing on a desktop or laptop just in case you missed it at the advertised time. This may be particularly useful if you have more than one child in school and feel like you need to be in 2 or 3 places at the same time!
You will have received a number of emails over the past three or four months with confirmation of your children’s login details on a letter brought home in their bag. We have set up test meetings and allowed parents to request workbooks if preferred. An example of the letter you will have received is below. If you do not know your child's login, we can remind you of the username or password if you email admin2052@welearn365.com
The best way to view Microsoft Teams is using the app downloaded onto a laptop or tablet. A web-viewer is available but the experience on this is not as good and can be a little limiting.
As in all lessons we politely request that children do not use the 'chat' function during the meetings as this can be very distracting for everyone in the meeting itself. Teachers may wish to use this feature to send a message or other important information and it can get lost in amongst all sorts of unnecessary messages.
If you are unable to access Teams work will also be posted on your class page as in the first lockdown.
We will work with you to help deal with any technical queries and manage any unsuccessful attempts to gain access so please be patient and just let us know if you need help.
We hope you enjoy seeing each other for your daily catchups!
