The Puzzling Sweet Shop

This puzzle is harder than it looks at first sight.  It is about finding all possible solutions.

Hints to help you:

  1. You will need to use a range of maths skills including: addition, multiplication, division and money
  2. You need to find as many different solutions as you can for each person in the problem
  3. Think about the ways 10 and 20 can be divided up
  4. Work systematically – that is think about working to a system or method
  5. Think about how you will record your answers so that you are communicating clearly your answers
  6. Work on finding all the different combinations for Rosie first
  7. To answer all questions in this problem would take a long time. Try to spend an hour on it and see how far you get

LO: To write a humorous story

Today you're writing a funny story about getting into trouble! This could be something that actually happened to you, or you can use your imagination and make up a story smiley

Look at the lesson below which takes you through what you need to think about, and the success criteria. Use the structure of the story planning document to think about what you need to include - make sure you do this stage beforehand, as it will help you to think about all the different parts of your story.

Music

Lesson 5 for those of you doing music this week rather than Art. Also you can join the Rock Steady live lesson at 2:00-2:30pm. Band Leader Paul will cover:

  • Music From Around the World: Paul will be taking KS2's on a journey around the globe to discover traditional music from various countries. This week we're learning about Folk Music.
  • Musical Word of the Week: Paul will talk about acoustic instruments, how they make their sound and compare them to electric instruments.
  • Acoustic or Electric: Putting them to the test can the children tell the difference between these two types of instruments?
  • I Will Wait: Paul performs a song by folk rock superstars 'Mumford & Sons' so the children can hear the influence Folk has had on modern music!

TJ Arts Week

Today all about going out and seeing all of the fantastic art work that has been created this week. Maps of the trail have been sent via email. Also make sure you check out the amazing videos that have been posted on the Arts Week webpage. You could also go back and have another go at creating some more Erro inspired art, or mould another character and make another Stop Motion film!
