English – Friday 10th July 2020

Well done for making it to Friday!

To finish the week I would like you to start creating a Year 3 scrapbook. I think that you will all agree this school year has been extremely memorable in many different ways and I think it would be lovely to document this unusual year in a creative way. Your scrapbook is for you to design and put together however you like. I have included a booklet template if you would like to use it. You can include anything to do with this year inside your book, this could include:

  • My friends this year
  • A funny moment from the year
  • Your achievements this year
  • Your goals for next year
  • Favourite topic
  • Favourite lesson/subject

Have a look at these temporary offices on a building site

Temporary Offices.

Imagine that you have the 4 squares as in the picture on the website and you have 7 cubes.

How many different ways could you arrange the offices without them falling over?

The website suggests that you use multi-link cubes which you won’t have access to at home.

You could use some lego bricks or any other examples of cubes you find around the house (but they would need you be the same size). You could make up some cubes by printing out the template below and folding it into a cube.

The other option you have is to follow the instructions on the website and use the isometric paper that can be found on there; however this is a much more challenging option.

Miss Thomas and Mrs Karban would love to see what you create.
