In today’s lesson you are going to write in the role of one of the characters.

Re-watch the video of the story, imaging you are the ‘smaller man’. After listening to all of the animals, how does the characters thoughts and feelings change from the start of the book to the end? Imagine that you are the man writing to his family to explain why he has left his job. What will he say to them?

Use the postcard features prompt and success criteria to support your writing. Challenge yourself to include all elements of the SC. Don’t forget basic punctuation and breaking ideas up into paragraphs.
