Pen Pals

With the majority of the country now staying safely at home, it's to be expected that many people will be lacking the social contact that they are used to. There are a number of elderly care homes in Stratford that have closed their doors to visitors for the protection of their residents, but this will no doubt be having a big impact on their residents' well-being. Why not write to a care home and strike up a pen pal relationship with someone there? Even if they're not able to write back, receiving regular updates or even just one-off letters from you will undoubtedly brighten their day, and it will give you an opportunity to keep your writing skills fresh! Once you've finished, add the following address and a stamp to the envelope, pop on down to your nearest post box and be sure to breathe in the fresh air while you're out!

Dear Diary

In years to come, we will look back at 2020 and we will consider Covid-19 to be an important part of our world's history. When you are grey and old, you will tell your children and grandchildren about how you lived through it. They'll probably even be teaching about it in school! So, if you haven't already, why not start a diary or log book documenting your days? (Think Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Kensuke's Kingdom.) You don't need to write much, just key things about what you're doing, how you're feeling, and perhaps any new and note-worthy developments from the news. You could even take photographs to hand down to future generations. It will definitely be interesting to look back on in years to come!
