Today we will be starting a new topic that links to Roald Dahl's book 'Fantastic Mr Fox'. We are looking to come away from the Oak Academy lessons for the rest of this half term, please let Miss Thomas and Miss Urquhart know which style of lessons you prefer because it will help them to plan for after half term.

Miss T Reading Chapter 1

Lesson 1 - To use description in a text to create an illustration.

Today's lesson is all about description and how it can be used to create an image in the reader's mind. Below is an extract from Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox, where the reader is introduced to 3 farmers. I would like you to either read the chapter or listen to Miss Thomas reading the text, and then draw a picture of each farmer using the description to help you.

For an extra challenge you could label each picture with descriptive phrases. It would be lovely to see the artwork you create!

‘Children are captivated by their learning’, ‘The well-being of pupils is at the heart of the school’, ‘School is a calm place - pupils are polite, courteous and well-mannered’
