Please can we remind you again to NOT send in any nuts or nut products (this includes Nutella) in your child's packed lunches. We have children in our school with very severe allergies. Thank you.
Reminder - Absence from School
Please remember that if your child is ill, you must call school to let us know. There is an answerphone for you to leave a message if the phone is busy. Please remember to give your child’s name, class and reason for absence. Thank you
We have become aware of an increasing number of pupils who are arriving late for school. When pupils arrive late, they miss out on essential instructions given at the beginning of the lesson. This can significantly reduce achievement, regardless of academic ability. Children also feel awkward arriving to the classroom when everyone else is settled. Furthermore, when one pupil arrives late, it disrupts the entire class and the teacher, therefore, everyone’s education is comprised. School begins at 8.55am. The doors to school open at 8.45am.
It is a parent’s legal responsibility to ensure their children arrive at school on time. Please give yourselves plenty of time to travel, particularly to park your car safely.
If your child arrives late at school, he/she will have to be signed in and a parental explanation recorded. Persistent, severe or unexplained lateness can be classed as unauthorised absence and may be referred to the Local Authority. We will continue to monitor lateness and take action as necessary.
Minutes late per day / Equivalent of missing
5 Minutes 3.4 school days a year
10 Minutes 6.9 school days a year
15 Minutes 10.3 school days a year
20 Minutes 13.8 school days a year
30 Minutes 20.7 school days a year
We are seeing an increase in the number of doctor/dental appointments being made during school hours. Whilst we appreciate that some are of an urgent nature, we would ask that any routine appointments or check-ups be scheduled for out of school time please where possible.
Please note that all volunteers in school are required to be DBS checked prior to volunteering in a class. All DBS's must be issued by Warwickshire County Council and cannot be accepted from any other governing body.
Please check with Mrs Thomas in the office who will provide you with the relevant information for completing the on-line form for this important safeguarding rule for the safety of our children.
Please could all volunteers ensure that they sign in at the office before going to the classroom. Thank you.
Changes in contact details
Please notify the school office as soon as possible if you change details such as phone number, address, etc so we have the correct information in case of an emergency.
If you change your email address you can amend this yourself on ParentPay.
Absence and medical arrangements: If your child is unable to attend school parents must telephone their children’s absence on the first day. If your child requires further medication upon returning to school you can either come to school to administer it to your child yourself or complete an Administration of Medication Consent Form for prescription medicines.
Bikes and scooters: We would like to remind everyone that cycling is not permitted in school grounds and it is advisable to lock bikes and scooters in the bike park at school.
Please be reminded that children are not permitted to bring in hard footballs for use during playtimes. Sponge balls only please.
